 Recycle? Up-cycle!

Today, together with FACE UP!, we learned about how trees grow and what they are made of. Other than furniture and paper, we could also make artificial vanilla from trees. At the end, we all made craft paper together - look at that little piece of art! Nature is just so beautiful. I also introduced this idea to my Ethics and Religious Culture class with the secondary 4 students who were researching up-cycling ideas for their class project. It was a hit!

It is crucial for our students today to learn some basic skills to start their own projects, proposals, channels, pages, blogs, or even small businesses. In my secondary 1 art class, students become young entrepreneurs by imaging their own businesses and drawing their own business cards. After the sketch is done, students will learn how to digitize their own hand drawings into a professional looking logo.
These two pictures are taken from a logo I created for the school's "Green" project using Photoshop.

The Art of Music

This is when music meets arts - our students turned recycled materials into instruments and amazing art works! Students enjoy this project and they learn so much about the mechanism about instruments by building them by hand.

Let me hear your voice :)
