I see myself as a musician, a teacher, life-long learner, and a global citizen. As a musician, I enjoy playing and composing music with many instruments and other musicians. As a teacher, I value music education as an opportunity that can benefit all students: We hear music in all cultures and music class is where the teacher guides students to appreciate, create, express, listen, and make connections between music and their real life experiences. As a life-long learner, I actively reflect and search for ways to improve my teaching methods to best work with students, parents, and the school staff as a team to achieve the final goal, which is the student’s success. As a global citizen, I can foresee the challenges international students encounter during their studies in Canada. I would like to create collaborative classrooms, where each student’s individual strengths can be shared and contributed to a group that grows together.
My philosophy |
My Goal |
My Mission |
Caring is the primary aspect of my teaching philosophy - it is extremely important to work with the students in a way that they know that their teacher cares about their success. As such, strategies to maximize the learning potential of all students must be developed.
|
My goal of teaching is to ensure that all of my students feel safe, included, and empowered to find success in my classroom and beyond. |
Aside from teaching music, I hope to act as a resource for the students, the parents, my colleagues, the school board, and the community that I will be working in. I further hope to supplement the student’s school experience through enriching extra-curricular activities, perhaps during recess, lunch-time, and/or after school.
